to your frequently asked questions

Workshop Registration

We have a dedicated page for that! Click here to see it.

You can click on the Register menu option at the top of this page or call Rick. His number is on the top of this page.

We encourage you to register at least two weeks prior to the start of a workshop. We take registration on a space-available basis until the day before the training, so give us a call to see if we can accommodate you.

Registration and payment are two separate steps. That said, once you register you are automatically taken to the payment page to make your payment. If you didn’t pay at that time, you can go to the payment page by following this link.

There a several reasons why the payment may be done separately from the registration. Somebody else may be paying for you. You may be making partial payments. Or you simply may be paying at a different time than when you registered.

Before you can pay for a workshop, you must register for it. Go to the registration page first if you have not registered.

Once you have successfully registered, you will be taken to the payment page automatically. If you wish to return to the payment page later, refer to your registration email to determine how much you owe. Make sure to deduct any prior payments you have made toward your registration.

Workshop Costs

Full pricing details are available from the registration page. We can offer the program at a fraction of the cost of competing programs because we are a not-for-profit organization and use professionally trained large group facilitators in conjunction with many volunteer small group facilitators and support people.

The registration cost includes the workshop only. You are responsible for food and lodging. You will be given at least an hour to eat meals at a local restaurant, or you can bring your own food and/or snacks. The workshops are usually held at local hotels. You are responsible for securing your own lodging. It is not required that you stay at the hotel where the workshops are being held. You may commute from your home or a friend’s home if that is an option for you.

We offer discounts for students, alumni, and early registrants. Details can be found from the registration page.

This is an investment in your future. Everything we have for the most part requires maintenance. You change the oil in your car, get new tires, service your heating and air etc. We believe Impact Workshops is maintenance for you. The real question here is: “How can you not afford to attend?” If money is the only issue hindering you from attending please call Rick and let him know. His number is at the top of this page.

You may request a full refund up until two days before the day of the workshop by contacting the office. You may also request a full refund at the end of the workshop on Sunday if you feel you have not received value from the workshop (again, you must request the refund before you leave the workshop on Sunday). Otherwise, if you cannot attend the workshop, you can apply the amount you paid toward a future workshop.

If for any reason you need to cancel please call the office as soon as possible. We need to plan for the number of participants who will actually attend.

Workshop Location and Accomodations

At this time, we hold the workshops in Portland, Oregon and Redlands, California. This is subject to change over a long period of time (years), as we have held workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada. If you have 20-plus people who would like to attend a Foundations workshop in your area, please contact us.

We work with the hotel to provide competitive group rates to you. However, you will need to reserve your room via phone with the host hotel.

You can be very casual, comfortable, and modest. Layers are always best. The temperature in the training rooms can fluctuate and often runs cold, so bring a light jacket even in the summer.

We start and end at different times in different cities. You can find out more on our Impact Workshops page.

Workshop Format

The workshops are held over two weekends (Friday through Sunday). The workshops are interactive, consisting of large group talks and experiential exercises, small-group and one-on-one discussions, and work that you will do on your own. Much more information about the content and format can be found on our Impact Workshops page.

Most of the time you will not be listening to speakers, as this is definitely an “audience participation” workshop! That said, our facilitators and support staff are professionally trained and have conducted many hundreds of workshops for thousands of individuals. Although our organization was founded in 2004, many of our facilitators have been in this role for previous, similar programs. Our facilitators also have certification, training, advanced degrees, and/or experience in personal coaching, positive psychology, leadership methods, conflict mediation, and personality types. You can read a number of biographies on our Team page.

We take 10-15 minute breaks at least every two hours and meal times last at least an hour and are usually a little longer. Our California workshops have shorter breaks because we run nearly the same number of processes in less time.

Absolutely! We will also suggest books for you to read. What we provide is an interactive, experiential environment where you can learn how to use the ideas we present to you in every life situation. You will learn how you relate to others by actually interacting with them! Consider it as a laboratory for real life.

Who Should Attend and Why?

Anyone 18 year or over who wants to dramatically increase the quality of their own lives and their relationships.

18 is the youngest age. We have made a few exceptions with parental consent. Connect with the office if you need more clarification on this.

We don’t think you need to be fixed either! Our workshops are for individuals who want more success in life and are interested about learning new, simple tools to help find that success. We explicitly advise our participants not to pressure their family and friends to attend, but instead to simply tell others what they got out of the experience.

Stress, working all the time, and taking care of everyone else is a prescription for health issues. For you to take three full days for you is not a long commitment. You will learn ways to create a more fulfilling life instead of a life full of “Things you have to do!” You will learn what is important in your life, and what is merely urgent.
