Perhaps you’re filled with a sense of unease and restlessness … because your once-passionate life has dulled into never-changing drudgery. Surely there must be more to life?
Maybe you envision a promising future of happiness and success … but you can’t seem to turn your dreams into reality. How do you get started?
Or perhaps life is going pretty well … and you’re ready to take your success, passion and joy to a new level. What more is waiting for you?
Build the foundation to create more of what you want in life.
Foundations Impact Workshops consist of two weekends (weekend 1 is called Climb; weekend 2 is called Flight), small-group coaching, and membership in a vibrant community of like-minded people who are committed to their personal growth and success.
You may have heard about Foundations Impact Workshops from a friend or family member. When you asked, “What is this program about?” you might have gotten a response along the lines of “I can’t really explain it… you’ll just have to find out for yourself… but you really have to go!”
Not very helpful, we know.
Very briefly: Foundations Impact Workshops are personal success workshops using experiential learning in a group setting.
Still not helpful? OK, why not settle in, and we’ll give you a complete picture.
Imagine you’re at your favorite sporting event, or maybe at a concert featuring your favorite artist. The crowd is buzzing and filled with anticipation, waiting for the team to take the field or the band to take the stage. So are you!
As the event starts, everyone in the venue rises as one! You were strangers before you arrived, but now you are united by a common interest or purpose, and by the feelings you are experiencing. It doesn’t matter if the person next to you has different attitudes, politics, or religion. The color of their skin, gender, or background no longer matters.
In short, you are having a group experience. Group experiences can happen in church, at a corporate retreat, during a family vacation, at a party with friends, or virtually anywhere people gather to feel like a part of something bigger than themselves.
Group experiences are characterized by a sense of connectedness and a common goal. Trust can be built very quickly. Others feel just like you do. You belong!
There are some things we learn best by doing.
Perhaps you’ve done experiential learning before, like a ropes course, team-building exercises, or art therapy. If you haven’t, don’t worry. Even people who have “done” experiential learning are surprised by the depth of our processes.
Have you ever read a self-help or leadership development book that had practical exercises at the end of each chapter? Be honest, did you actually do the exercises?
If so, congratulations! The learning flows from the doing.
During our workshops, we do the exercises! And unlike exercises assigned to you in most books, the entire group will participate with you. (Remember what we said about group experiences?) During the Climb and Flight weekends, most of what you will learn can be read in a book or by listening to a lecture.
Transformation won’t happen if you’re just reading a book or listening to a lecture. To help you make permanent shifts in your thinking and behavior, you’ll participate in a variety of exercises (we call them processes or games) to interact with other participants. We will help you explore your experiences and feelings.
You’ll start with some short educational lectures just to build your foundation. But you’ll quickly move to large and small group discussions, one-on-one exercises, brief writing exercises, games and more. We use a combination of teaching techniques to appeal to different learning styles, keeping you engaged, having fun, and making tremendous leaps in your growth.
The exercises have a solid basis in psychology, and not philosophy, spirituality, or religion. Feel free to bring your own core beliefs with you. We will honor them and not teach from our own religious or philosophical beliefs. What may change is the perspective you take toward yourself and others. What usually happens is that this shift will brighten and sharpen your own core beliefs.
The feedback we get from most participants is that the workshops are life-changing. Skeptical? If you attend the entire Climb weekend and don’t find value for yourself, see us before you leave at the end of the workshop on Sunday and we will happily refund your registration fee.
You’ll be surprised at what you are capable of when you are nurtured and encouraged by your group and presenting team. For perhaps the first time in your life, you’ll feel completely accepted for who you are, and you’ll gain comfort from knowing that no matter what your story is, you are not alone. There are others who feel just as you do. And by giving to others in your group, you will receive even more.
We will continue to nurture and support you with a series of group teleconference calls following both the Climb and Flight weekends.
Foundations Impact Workshops consist of dozens of processes or games, each of which is designed to apply to one aspect of your life, your relationships, or how you see yourself. Some processes may be hugely impactful to others, but for you it’s kind of… meh. Chances are a process is right around the corner that is hugely impactful to you even though it’s not to some others! We also tend to place more impactful processes later in the weekend, as your level of trust in us and your fellow participants increases.
The benefits you’ll gain from participating in the Climb weekend are truly priceless. You’ll walk out the door able to better love and accept yourself–exactly as you are. You’ll finally release the pain, fear and heartache of the past and fully embrace an uncertain future. You’ll root out, reduce and even eliminate the self-defeating thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are sabotaging your success. Then, with the emotional space freed up by letting go of what’s keeping you stuck, you get to claim what you want–truly want–in your life. You will walk out the door with a clear statement of the type of man or woman you really are, the person who was hiding under all of life’s burdens and expectations all along.
Then in the Flight weekend, you get to explore your relationships with others. What’s holding you back? Why are other people so annoying, and what can you do about it? The Flight weekend is about moving forward with integrity and good character to build positive relationships. You’ll learn what it takes to command (rather than demand) respect as a leader. You will put words to your life’s purpose–your own unique way of bringing meaning to your life by touching others’ lives. You will leave Flight with a sense of complete freedom and a concrete plan for achieving your dreams.
Foundations Impact Workshops are offered several times each year. The workshops are currently offered in two locations: Portland, Oregon and Redlands, California.
To maintain your momentum and growth, we recommend you take the Climb and Flight weekends back-to-back. (Flight is usually 4-6 weeks after Climb.) However, if a scheduling conflict prevents you from finishing Flight with your original Climb group, you may complete the second weekend when it is offered in the future.
Workshops start at 10:00am sharp on Friday morning and end about 6:30pm on Sunday. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes early on Friday to complete the registration process. Regular breaks are scheduled throughout, including lunch and dinner which are on your own.
Foundations Impact Workshops are usually held at local hotels. You are responsible for securing your own lodging. It is not required that you stay at the hotel where the workshop is being held. You may commute from your home or a friend’s home if that is an option for you.
Specific dates and pricing plans are listed on the registration page, which can be accessed by pressing the button below. We are a not-for-profit organization which means we do our best to keep the workshops affordable. For-profit companies line owners’ pockets and use much of your registration fees on marketing campaigns. Our combination of registration fees, donations, and experienced volunteer staff allow us to offer our programs at a fraction of the cost of similar programs (which, in our humble opinion, aren’t nearly as good!)
Want to know more? We understand. Sometimes attending a program like this can seem like a big step. Let’s fill you in so you’ll feel more comfortable about what you’re stepping into.
We have no published agenda. The details of our processes aren’t a secret, but the program is like a gift to be unwrapped. Telling you everything would lessen the experience. So instead, here is the focus of each process and what you can expect to learn from it. (NOTE: These lists tend to be seen as TL;DR (too long; didn’t read). So you can open and close these sections depending on how much detail you wish to see.)
After nearly two decades presenting this program, by far the biggest reasons for not attending the program are (1) not enough time, and (2) not enough money. Both of these are the result of not prioritizing your own growth above whatever you’re spending your money and time on now.
It’s hard to prioritize the workshops over the high demands real life places on us. It’s doubly hard when you don’t really know what you will get out of attending.
That’s why we offer our money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, we can’t give you your time back too.
So consider this: How much time do you spend working through conflict with others? Would you like to learn how to minimize this and do it in an easier way? How much time do you spend frozen in place due to worry, regret, guilt, shame, and fears? While everybody experiences these emotions, they needn’t keep you from taking bold action to fully realize your dreams.
People wait years before being “talked into” attending the program. Inevitably they regret not attending sooner. So what’s holding you back? If you still have reservations, just pick up the phone and call Rick. (He was one of those people who waited years before attending, so he knows exactly how you feel.) His number is at the top of the screen.
